Scholarships and Grants
The LAA awards several scholarships and grants to provide members of the Alberta library community with financial support for continuing education and library programming activities.
LAA’s grants and scholarships are made available through interest earned from the LAA’s Education Endowment Fund. This fund began as a grant to the LAA in support of activities related to the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Its investment means that decades later, the LAA can continue to support learning for members.
LAA Members are welcome to self-nominate themselves for scholarships and grants. Nominations for scholarships and grants typically open in the third quarter of each year, and are awarded by the end of the year.
Nominations for the 2024 LAA Grants and Scholarships will open in the fall. Please read the criteria and application process carefully and contact us with any questions regarding your application.
