Love seeing libraries combat food security! We have a Little Free Pantry as well and have recently joined FAST (Food Access and Security Taskforce). It's a group of other organizations in the community that fight food insecurity and includes members from Salvation Army, AHS, and social policy advisors from our municipality, to name a few. We've only been to one meeting, but so far it seems like a good connection to cross promote resources. With the LFP in your community, have you had other orgs of a similar nature that have approached wanting to collaborate? |

Hi! I'm not sure if this helps, but what about sponsorship? It's a bit more flexible timeline-wise than grants. Maybe a corporation pays X dollars and they get to have their name as part of the library? I feel like I saw one recently do this in Alberta, but do you think I can remember the library or the name? Good luck! |

Hi All, Just wondering what strategies other libraries use when advocating with municipalities. Do you meet one on one with municipal council members? Attend municipal events regularly? What do you find works and what doesn't work when advocating for the library? TIA! |
