TYPE OF COMMITTEE:
STANDING COMMITTEE as established by the Library Association of Alberta bylaws.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
To encourage individuals, institutions and organizations engaged in library services or interested in the objectives of the Library Association of Alberta to join the Association.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review membership fees every two years and recommend changes to the Board as necessary
- Complete review of the membership as requested by the Board or every five years
- In collaboration with the Advisory Committee, make recommendations to the LAA Board regarding services appropriate to member needs and the mission and vision of the Library Association of Alberta
COMPOSITION AND APPOINTMENT:
- The Committee requires three members from the Board including one Director as Chair
- Members at large may volunteer
- Members serve a one-year term
- Members at large are recruited in August of each year
