Special Interest Groups
A special interest group is an opportunity for members of the LAA to establish a group related to a topic or activity of library work, with the intent of meeting for networking, learning, publication or other activities. Special Interest Groups may apply to the Board for funding for special activities, and can make use of the board communication tools, website and communication channels (e.g. newsletter and social media) to share information about their activities.
How do I Establish a Special Interest Group?
The Executive may establish Special Interest Groups upon request of ten or more members interested in a subject or activity related to libraries and outside the scope of an existing Interest Group or Committee. Interest Groups are encouraged to extend their activities beyond major urban areas.
